A DIFFERENT POINT OF VIEW.

Reflections is a personal photography project by Jon Enoch, a lifestyle photographer in London. A custom-built mirror structure meets the dunes of Cape Town, turning portraiture, fashion and the surrounding landscape into a study of perception.

01 / The idea

REAL PLACES.
NEW POSSIBILITIES.

My work is usually grounded in real people, places and experiences. For this personal project, I wanted to build something bigger in scale and more deliberately constructed.

The Cape Town dunes became a setting for images that blur reality and illusion. Sand, sky and a mirrored form turn a familiar landscape into something unexpected.

02 / The mirror structure

ONE FORM.
MANY POSSIBILITIES.

The custom-built mirror structure is the recurring element in the series. Placed among the dunes, it can seem to disappear into its surroundings, repeat a figure or bring a second view into the frame.

Changing position changes the photograph: the reflection brings people, sky and landscape into a different relationship.

03 / Repetition & contrast

A WORLD WITHIN
THE FRAME.

The series brings people, clothing and environment into the same visual language. Repetition and contrast change how a portrait is read, while the landscape remains an essential part of the image.
