Berlin

Here is a recent commission for the inaugural revamped and redesigned edition of Airberlin Magazine for which I undertook the cover shoot and some of the inside imagery. Shot in Berlin and London - wunderbar. The model was a member of staff but I have to say as a commercial photographer I couldn’t have wished for a better sitter.

New Site

We have been spending a little bit of time tweaking the website. Nothing too radical but some little changes that now mean you are given a better overview of the images rather than small thumbnails. Hopefully it makes it easier to take in the breadth and depth of what is being shot without having to work your way through each individual image one by one. It's also now easier to navigate if viewing on a mobile or ipad. As a photographer that works in both the lifestyle and advertising sectors I think the site gives views a good overview of all my work.

Sporty Faces

Two recent shoots featuring the women’s England football teams star striker Eni Aluko and cricketing legend Freddie Flintoff. Eni was shot out at the Chelsea training ground whilst we set up to shoot Freddie and his pocket square in central London. As a sports portrait photographer both were a delight to work with.

RNLI

We were recently called upon by the RNLI to shoot a series of advertising images to promote their mass participation event 'H2only'. The sponsored challenge sees if people can drink just water for ten days. The images are being used on bus backs and tube advertising. Below is also the scamp that was used in the original brief. We took care of all aspects of production in house to make the scamp a reality.

Latest Sport Uncovered

Here are three of my recent shots for my ongoing sport uncovered series. Featuring athlete Andy Turner "The pain [in my Achilles] was always there and I would never know if I was going to be able to train on it"...England rugby player Victoria Fleetwood: "It’s nice to know that you can still look feminine but play a contact sport".....and high jumper Jade Johnson "I was eight years old when I told my mum I was going to the Olympics".

Jamie Oliver

A recent shoot with the naked chef aka Jamie Oliver at his Old Street, London, HQ. Shot for Timeout. Jamie has launched Food Tube Magazine which will appear as an inserted section in Timeout. We shot first thing in the morning...after Jamie had finished eating his huevos rancheros. A lovely lifestyle shoot in central London.

Politico - ES Magazine

I was recently sent to Brussels for a few days by ES Magazine to shoot the launch of ‘Politico’ a newspaper and website focusing on the world of politics. The rolling news site originates from Washington and has invigorated political reporting state-side. I spend a few days shooting a documentary feature on the new Brussels edition as it hopes to recreate its success in Europe….out in today’s ES magazine.

Wiggle Campaign

Recent images from a campaign commissioned for Wiggle the UK’s largest online bike and tri-sports retailer. Shot on location at the Olympic park London and in the studio, the print and billboard adverts will form part of a multimillion-dollar marketing drive aimed at increasing penetration in the UK and Australia. As an advertising photographer I could not have wanted for a better team. Thanks everyone.

National Training Academy

Young british athletics talent. Photographed at the National Training Academy outside of Birmingham.  We spend the afternoon with the athletes capturing them in training across a range of disciplines. Using a heavy amount of flash to overcome the messy and flat gym interior. We also shot ‘body parts’ for the client to convey the peak physical condition of these elite athletes. As a sports portrait photographer I love the moody dark drop off you get when shooting in large training facilities.

Le Comptoir Général

I was recently commissioned to travel to France to shoot this quirky lifestyle travel feature on Le Comptoir Général in Paris. The LCG, as it is known, is run like a department store, with concessions operated by an eclectic bunch of traders. Most of the staff have links with Africa, cross-continental characters who effortlessly mix what they term ‘ghetto cool’ from homelands like Morocco or Togo with Parisian flair to create the kind of edgy street style spotted in New York or London but rarely seen in France’s highly polished capital. Here a a few of the characters I met.

More - Sport Uncovered

Here is an update on my ongoing Sport Uncovered project commissioned by Sport Magazine. One image is used by the magazine every two weeks. Here a a few of the images that have been published since my last update. Featuring: Kristian Thomas, Marvin Sordell, Eni Aluko and Sarah Lindsay. As a sports portrait photographer I’m constantly thankful to all the subjects for being so willing to get involved.

Derren Brown

Good to see an image of mine gracing the cover of “My VIP” magazine. This image was shot at Derren's central london home and features his pet parrot Rasputin, a Blue Quaker. As a portrait photographer I more often that not work with celebrity’s - Darren was as charming as his flat is bonkers.

The Rise of Harry Kane

Images of the most talked about British footballer of the season. Used by a number of publication (including here Sport Magazine). We devised a very simple, almost classical, lighting style and pose to mirror Harry's very traditional on field playing style.
