Film - Sports Fitness - Rye to the Sky

I have uploaded a new film and added a new film section to the website to house these moving image pieces. ‘Rye to the Sky’ is a high intensity fitness piece shot around my local area of South London. Shooting stills as well as directing moving image is an increasingly common ask from clients. Visually it allows for consistency with the film mirroring the style of my images that I produce as a lifestyle photographer. You can click here to view the FILM.

Below are some stills from the film.

Sport Uncovered - Round Up

Here is a slideshow showcasing my ongoing project Sport Uncovered which is being shot for Sport Magazine. The aim is to show top British athletes in positions they would naturally adopt in their master sport, but also in the nude, in their ‘rawest form’. So far we have shot some of the leading names in their respective sports with new images being added every two weeks. As a sport portrait photographer I have found this whole series a delight to work on.

Uncovered

Recent images for the ongoing Sport Uncovered series:

Danielle Wyatt - Cricketer, 24:

“I was 18 when I made my senior debut in Mumbai, India. I was dead thin back then. No muscle, no strength. But within six months of me being around the England set-up, they had me on a strength programme. Now I can hit sixes out of the park. It will always be more about technique for me, though. The girls who are naturally bigger can just go ‘bang’. But little girls like me, we’ve got to have the right technique. It’s all about timing."

Jake Ball - Rugby player, 24:

“I used to be a cricketer. When I was about 15, I stopped playing rugby and went out to Western Australia to train with their cricket academy. I was a fast bowler – built really differently to how I am now. Back then I weighed around 92kg and had hardly any body fat on me. Now I’m 123kg."

As a sports portrait photographer I’m continuity amazed as these individuals athletic abilities.

Sport Uncovered

More naked athletes...this time Leo Barker a Decathlete and wheelchair tennis star Jordan Whiley. All part of my ongoing sport uncovered series. As a sports photographer who works in the advertising sector its great have the freedom to shoot without a tight client requirement.

Screaming Frankie

Some recent images of racing legend Frankie Dettori shot on race day at Ascot. We arrived early and scouted a couple of locations to shoot these images. Frankie was filming a behind the scenes 'day in the life' video, I make a rather unplanned appearance you can watch it here: Video - as a portrait photographer Frankie was great to shoot - like his racing he gave it everything.

Anthony Crolla

A recent image shot on the roof of Big Sky Studios in the blistering heat as part of my ongoing Sport Uncovered series for Sport Magazine. Anthony said: "It’s a better feeling than I imagine any drug or drink gives you. That’s the thing about boxing: the lows can be so low, but the highs can be higher than anything you can imagine.” I love shooting these images, as an advertising photographer its great to be given so much freedom.
