I recently had the pleasure of popping over to Angela Hartnett house in Spitalfields to take her portrait and shoot some of her most recent creations. It was a lovely day so we used the garden as a setting and she sent me on my way with dinner in a tupperware container. Result.

From the archive - Jon Bon Jovi
Here is one of Jon Bon Jovi taken a year ago or so. I haven't posted them on the blog before and they are not in my book but i thought they were worth an airing. They were taken in the rockers London hotel room when he was here on a promotional tour. I thought he looked amazing considering he is in his early 50's.

L'Wren Scott
I have had the pleasure of photographing L'Wren Scott on a number of occasions and the news of her untimely death is tragic news. Here are a few of my favorite candid portraits of her take as part of a wider 'behind the scenes' feature on the women on the year awards. Pictured below with Yasmin Le Bon and Stephen Jones.
Back Story - Blade Runner.
In the first of a regular blog feature I pull an image out of the archive and discuss a little of the who, what, when, where and why behind the image.
This Image of Oscar Pistorius was taken in 2012 just before the London Olympics. The commission was for a leading UK sports magazine and I had an hour or so with the star sprinter up at the Lea Valley athletics track in North London. Everyone always asks what he was like. In reality all leading sportsmen that I have met have a similar personality trait; professional yet single minded.
Oscar was very friendly, charming even. A little short tempered at my insistence on getting the blades in all of the pictures “its about the time I put in, not the blades”. I arrived early and checked out the venue for locations. Using a different number of lighting set ups to speed the shoot along and provide a level of diversity in the final set. The images were used on the cover and inside spreads and have been syndicated globally.
Oscars murder charge is set to be heard in South Africa in March.
Northern Italy
A few images form a recent fact finding mission to Northern Italy, close to Venice, to see some high-end eyewear being produced ahead of shooting their campaign images. We saw the whole production process in full swing from design drawings to finished product.
